Visited a new farm on Wednesday - well to cut a long story short, found this little thing.
Looking at Spink 2010 page 250 and I think its a sixpence dated 1561 (just three years into her reign)

Would appreciate some expert advice if possible
Cheers
Mike

Lovely profile of ol Gloriana there, a fine addition to any collection. I'm guessing by the condition of the coin it was a pasture find. Well done.

Lovely find.

The coin needs some loving care by lavishing some silver polish on it.

Shocked  do not listen to Sparticus -  Please dont put Silver polish on it Mike , Its spent the last Four hundred and odd years in the ground happily building up an aged character the last thing you want to do is apply 'Uncle Bobs Ole Rejuvenating Cream' to it.  Shocked
