A token hunt, quite literally

I didn't get back from the Emerald Isle until 3.20am and was up in time for the match (wow what a game) and a bit of the Ireland game too, but them decided if I didn't get out and do some detecting I'de be asleep again in no time .
Well as Relichunting has said in his thread, it was a might too hot for comfort and the apparent shortage of decent signals made it an even harder days detecting.
A few finds to mention though are first and second for Jassy, Catrwheel pennies, I don't think I've found 2 in one day before and I was just getting my hearing back after the first when Boinnng!!!!! the next came along.



Then up popped the end of a Trumpet brooch complete with spring, the first I've found over here on the Poldens.


Tokens seemed to be coming up for a pastime, a Bristol Farthing another dated 1669 and a small one with Bridgwater just visible, all hammered but alas all copper so they don't count in my total. But the best was a Nuremberg token and I think it's probably the best one I've ever found and after 33 years I've found a few lol.


Then up came this  ???weight any info gratefully received.


This is the same farm that last week produced the Saxon stirrup mount and I was hoping any moment to be staring at Saxon silver but no it wasn't to be. But what was to be and from the next field over was another stirrup mount and this time whole, showing what appears to be a man's face and maybe a green man at that.


I'm over the moon at finding a second and given that owning a horse in the 10th century was equal to a Ferrari of today, more searching of these fields is on the cards. Other than 2 Roman grots that was my lot, not the most productive days but I've had a lot lot worse

Great finds Geoff. I don't think I've had two cartwheel pennies in a day before either, but I also did today 

A Saxon stirrup-strap mount is something I've never had, and that one is just superb, well done!

And thanks for the id on the weight, I honestly hadn't considered it being a coin weight due to the wording. It's only a coincidence I know but this one came up in the same field and area as a weight for an Ecu just 400 years apart
I just need to find the coins that went with them now
This is how the one from last Friday looks after some TLC, interesting thing is it has broken at the top at some time in antiquity and it has been re drilled in the lions mouth so it can still be used. I'll update with a pic of the new one tomorrow when it's had some luving.
