Ok here is my favourite find, its a little predictable but it is what it is.

Had been reading up a lot on the Knights Templar , always find their story interesting. Decided to find a farm that bordered something Templar and managed to do just that.

Its funny how things work out, now the chances of finding something 'Templar'  Roll Eyes ....well lets just say I'd have been more likely to have luck sticking a squid on the lottery  Smiley

Imagine the dawn of realisation when not only do I find my First and only (Still only)  ring , but its also 12th Century Treasure and its also got a nice symbol on it.  Grin .... A Templar Symbol.

The museum may say that it's links to the Knights Templars cant be proven, but to me it will ALWAYS be my 12th Century Templar Ring.

Some great artefacts guys!

Here is my contribution - most of you have seen it before. Dated 1500-1550 and now resides in the National Museum of Wales. Silver and 22ct gilt large man's Medieval ring - only know comparrison is a heavily erroded version from the deck of the Mary Rose. Declared it as Treasure and went through a full pocess of 18 months.

Keep them coming . . .

Neil

my favourite is this aerial gunners badge, they where given to the american air force as soon as they did their training on the b17 flying fortress bombers.
i found it on aberavon beach and at first glance i thought it was tin foil.
the ones handed out in britain were made of cast alloy but the ones handed out in america were solid silver and can fetch around a £100
this one was sold on ebay for £45.i wanted to keep it being a man who never throws anything away and because of its history but the mortgage does'nt pay itself so hay ho it had to go Angry
it would have been worn on the lapel of a jacket

To be honest if any members get downhearted not finding much this thread is great every find is a cracker and maybe even better ones just waiting to be unearthed, keep em comming folks cheers Chris
