Hi,
Open your pic using the 'Preview' application. Look for 'Tools' in the top menu and come down to 'Adjust Size...' you can then resize and save your pic.

For batch processing lots of pictures on a Mac there is a very good free application called XnView.

open the picture you want to alter in iPhoto.

Go to file > export and click OK

Alter the dimensions in Pixels (Do a few tests to get the size you require) again click OK

Choose a new / folder and drive to save the new file too click OK

When you now enter the new folder/location, the size should be what you've chosen.

If any problems go to google and ask for 're-sizing in iPhoto.
