I popped to a local beach on Tuesday evening after my 5-A-Side match was cancelled to see if the recent winds had removed much sand.

I didn't get there until 5.30pm and an onshore wind had lifted loads of sand off the beach stacing it against the walls leaving lots of shale open to detecting. The shale areas were covered in bits of pottery and glass so it boded well, but with the tide lapping at my ankles time certainly wasn't on my side.

I managed a handfull of coinage - 2 pre 1947 50/50 silver 6 pences and a smattering of coppers form Vicky, Edward and Georgie. Also a dog tag from way back when and a fishing reel handle. Would have been a good day except "Time and Tide waits for no man" and after a hour and half I was heading home.

Oh well - I can't grumble - there plenty more to be found next time and it rarely doesn't produce silver or gold in some shape or form.

Neil

Looks like a nice little session bud.You just never know what might turn up when the sand is stripped.Looks like you got a nice selection there.Good going Neil.I may have missed a lot of the rally season, but I can't wait to get on the beaches this autumn.Bring on the storms !  Grin
