For me its an unusual find for South Wales in the shape of an 1838 United states silver Half Dime. Minted before their Civil War, whilst slavery was still wide spread and in a year when the Cherokee Nation from the southeastern U.S. were forcible removed leading to over 4,000 deaths in the Trail of Tears.

Not that long ago when you think about it and what it was doing in a pasture in the VOG we'll never know.

Cheers
Neil
