Mine is the Irish hammered, when it came up I thought I had found something extremely rare as I had never seen an Irish penny before, and was so excited, hay paid for, insurance paid for, kids sorted and holidays !  oh yess !! lol.  It was a great day until I found out that it was Irish and not rare !  Smiley

Flavius Victor, Silver Siliqua 383-388 CE. Found last year, I love it cos of the detail is so fine. Was at a rally near Newbury, wasn’t finding much but regularly looking round and noticed that a guy was at the far corner of the field and didn’t move for over an hour. Digging plenty of holes all the time. I guessed he was onto something so casually made my way over. As I got there he was walking away. Within minutes bingo! Out came the Siliqua. I stayed there for some time but nothing else to mention. Intrigued with what the other chap had, I caught up with him later to find out he was a beginner and had found a George penny and stayed there looking for more.  Smiley
Last year I got some lovely denari even a lovely Republican, all very special but this is the only Siliqua. Well chuffed Smiley

My first Scottish hammered, a groat of Robert II 1371-1390. Had been a very quiet field and I was working my way back to the car when I got a good signal. I thought I had a bottle top at first until I seen the circle and cross on the reverse. I knew I had a groat but was even more pleased on turning it over and seeing the left facing bust of a Scottish coin. Still get a thrill when I pick it up.  Cheesy
