I am liking that Joel and the back fixings certainly look like rose gold.

Not sure on the platinum front - gold fixings are often used on silver as well as platinum, but it would be a great result if it is. The weight may give it away for you as platinum is a dense and heavy metal.

Is it me or does it look to have something written on it in the middle?

Great find

To just add my 10 peneth worth, Brass comes out of water that colour so don't get to carried away just yet. I'm sure you've probably checked but if not make sure it's not meant to be black as it appears to be late Victorian/Edwardian and Mourning jewellery was very "in" the silver version of which was treated with neillo to blacken it.

For what it's worth it weighs in at 8grams. It does say something on the back but i can't make it out.
