The umbrella theory is quite convincing and has solved one more mystery,found several over the years and initially put them down to parts off old farm machinery.The tarp eyelets are a continuous double flange flange. Smiley

i found 16 of these in one very small field ... must of been an umbrella graveyard...

i had thought they were eyelets from some sort of horse things as i also found allot of other horse brass in the same field

came across 2 of these in one hole outside a ruined, 19th century farmstead, well off beaten track so I'm not so sure  Undecided Undecided 2 umbrellas maybe!?
