I recall reading this article a while ago. A good place to search those winter beaches.
Any beach that is, or has been populated by people is a perpetual gold mine. Storms and gales literally redopsit lost treasures on the beach, find the high tide mark and then the low tide mark. Then locate the very middle section between these tide marks. In your mind draw a line right down the centre of the beach. From this point you will extend 10 to 12 feet on each side of the previous envisioned line. This area on each side of the line is your secret search zone.
After you have located the secret search zone, start a zigzag search pattern and start walking up the beach with your metal detector.
