hi guys and gals i found this in a field near the bronze age burial site in aberdare yesterday .
gave it a good clean up and it looks like an aliens head and the letter S on the bottom right of it to me lol?
anyone know what this is??









i was thinking a token of some kind cos im sure i read about some employer years ago paying miners with tokens and vouchers they could only spend in HIS shop ? im totaly lost on this one??

My very rough guess would be a Georgian Irish half penny. Can't say what George though?

I think your guess is as good as any Jon! Does look like there might be a harp shape there, but very little to go on.

The "harp shape" was what I based my whole guess on lol. Plus it looks typical Georgian worn copper.  It's amazing how much they wear in the ground.

I think they must have been very worn when lost, or maybe were even thrown away because they were so worn they were no longer accepted as coinage.
