Recently one of forums had a NCMD rep come on to give a question & anwser session, which proved to be very enlightening. I wonder if the forum could do something similar.

Interesting idea. Are you thinking of a 'live' chatroom thing or a thread on the main forum?

I  think a thread is the answer Geoff, Then you got some control over the questions. Remic was forum name of Ncmd rep and
came across as highly intelligent.

Good idea Spooyt, dunno if I would feel intimidated by a highly intelligent person though  Grin

Interesting idea Geoff. Would the whole genre be covered. I am still very interested in the time team / archaeology thread and would like to know their stance on this plus a million other things. A good idea to run it as a thread as you will need control over it discussion will get heated, of that i am sure.  Wink

Does anyone know if you can join either of them online or is it cheque only? It seems a rather long drawn out process this day and age. I am used to just clicking buttons.

That is unfair Mike. The NCMD representative was invited on the forum - initially as an experiment - which has  been a great success. Remic (the rep) has answered all questions in a frank, efficient and engaging manner. I think the NCMD as well as detectorist.co.uk has found the alliance mutually beneficial. Certainly NOT a 'waste of space' as you so eloquently put it.  Grin
