The Hallmark   and my Coins, A Brass thru-penny bit and a Georgian Ha-penny that is shallow in the middle with a higher Rim,  it may be the start of a copper ring,

I thought yesterday that the date mark was a H, but iv'e cleaned it a bit better now and it looks like an 1887 n,
 i haven't found the makers W . star  B yet though,

Thanks seeker,   i was going to look it up tomorrow,  i had a feeling for late 1800's to early 1900's.

Nice ring Al well done that's the third silver buckle ring on here in the last month, could be as Seeker says 1912 but I'de be more inclined to go with 1887.

HI Geoff, Seeker and Byron,  iv'e been doing a bit of home work on it,  and yes that one is simular Byron, i also found out that the monarchs head wasn't always used seeker,,

Geoff,  Yes  William * Bateman worked out of London,  i found those n marks are London ones  between 1856 to 1905, as well as other dates, , , so perhaps they went to London to get Stamped where his press might have been,  or that was his base,  they were still used on their other stuff from other areas,
the same for Edinburgh i found one for 1846 to 1905 on there,

To me it still looks like Birmingham 1887,

Al it has the Birmingham anchor and therefore the date letter has to be Birmingham as well.

No Al the letter is Birmingham as well, you cant mix and match the marks. They all have to come from the same assay office. Wink
