Went out for a few hours yesterday and had a really good day! Found two George II coins, one has some silvering on it, not sure why? Found a nice buckle, a large silvered button, a lead pendant?, a Victorian Penny, looks like it was dropped just after it was minted its that good! A large Penny Token, Taunton Iron Foundry, quite lovely. Then there is a lovely Silver Brooch, slightly bent with copper pin come away (still got the pin though), managed to work it out I think, was very hard to see as they stamped it on a curve. It dated to 1906, crafted in Chester by M&J, and according to one website they were not registered, but known. The top section of it looks gold like? Not sure if it is or it is guilded? And then there is a lovely Book Clasp, for me is the find of the day, never found one before, it is really ornate, never seen so much decoration on a one object. UKDFD ranges these from 15 to 17 century, I feel mine is 15 -16 century, the markings are quite crude, and you may not see them but there is loads of wavy davy lines all over it as well! It just says old about it.
