hi guys and gals after 2 trips out with my detector my m8 is looking for one now  Wink
hes got £150 ish to spend on something and looking for one asap!

any tips on what to get for that kind of money?

Best machine for that sort of dosh would be a used Garrett 250 !  Smiley

NO ! ... i personally would leave that well alone. The 250 is a superb starter machine & they come up regular on Ebay for the sort of money your mate has to spend ;Wink

The garrett ace 250 is a good starter machine (I think you can also buy a Euro version nowadays as well).

 If he gets the bug I believe he would quickly out grow it (I had one and was looking for an upgrade within 3 months - but that just be me I am a bit mad an impulsive like that with new toys  Grin )

But for that kind of money, and starting out I think it may well suit.

i'll be looking to sell my ace 250 very soon. comes with the 6.5 x 9.5 and 10x12 coils.  Will be looking for £190 if your interested. only 6 months old or so.

I have a almost new in box Garrett Ace 150, used about 5 times only. With coil cover, Control box cover, 2 sets of unused garrett headphones, with instrucion manual and DVD. open to reasonable offers. It cost me £160 for the lot.
