NAZI PENDANT - But why/when & for what ??

I don't think it's got any thing to do with the Nazi emblem, the swastika is an ancient symbol of good luck that dates back thousands of years.

It`s the inscription that`s baffling me really, why two years

Looking at it I would say it's not anything to do with nazis, that symbol is an acient one used for thousands of years before the nazis came along. It often meant well being or good luck.

Therefore it must be pre 1930's if it's a good luck charm made before the Nazi party adopted it as their symbol of choice.

Interesting find there bud.I found a worn bottle top on one of my farms with the swastika on it and did a bit of research into the it.Turned out mine was from The St Austell Brewery.I also found out that Carlsberg used the swastika on their advertising and even Coca Cola too.All to symbolise good luck,as mentioned before.Seems it was abandoned in their advertising when the nazi's adopted it.Good luck with your research.

The Nazi Swastika was also displayed tilted like a diamond rather than a square.

Found this example on Ebay.

The seller says it was a Sunday School token.

Interesting post guys!

Its still considered a good luck symbol in many countries today. I received a plate as a thank you from a UAE student I helped last year with a problem he had at University. I realised straight away it was meant in the best possible taste, sadly though I don't have it on my desk as I still think it could offend other less enlightened students.

I must admit Neil, those Dan Brown books really got me into symbols and there meanings. It's amazing how some symbols are still around after many of thousands of years. It is a dreadful shame the swastika is tarred so badly by the nazi party.
