Went out for a few hours yesterday with Roman Ray to one of his newly found farms. Had plenty of coins with the earliest being a Cartwheel penny. Just before calling it a day I came across this buckle, which I think could be of some age possibly mid 1600's. Any buckle buffs out there? If this is the case then it could be worth another visit for a chance of hammered.
I'm sure Ray will put up his results later, quite something! Smiley

Thats a difficult one, but a nice buckle.

The closest I can find is as part of a copper-alloy double looped trapezoidal backle - circa 1620-1680. I am not entirely convinced thats the correct description, but its not too disimilar in design.  Datewise I think its not far off.

I'll keep looking
