hi Joel, great to meet you yesterday!! I went from an ace to a minelab explorer, although it takes some getting used to and is a bit more complicated to learn than the garrett, it is amazing on the wet sand at the beach, goes very deep!!!
i think casa dos a member on here has one for sale, not sure if hes sold it or not.

Was nice to meet you also Jassy. Yeah we talked about the explorer last night. Can't spend alot on one so if i can find one in my price range i will get one....mainly wantone for the beach as i am quite happy with my garrett for land but if i can get one thats better than my garrett then i will and sell my one.

and they also are good inland....Cheers PaulB. Cool

if you get a minelab your finds rate will increase a lot mate.you wont regret it ,i did'nt even though my etrac cost me £780 .it has made me £600 back since october last year.
a lot of rings found with explorers/sovereigns also.they are awsome on the wet sand.

if your looking for anew detector for beach work on the wet sand, mybe u should think on a pulse induction machine?
yes they dont discriminate like the minelabs, but u will save yourself £££££ss on buying a machine, for the price of abit of extra digging!,,,,,,,jst my opinion Grin.......Goodluck....

Depends what your budget is anything from the explorer II up would do fine
BUT also any of the sovereign range would do just as well and some say
a little better....and although you have a suggestion for a PI machine these will do the job well but you will spend most of your time digging for small iron at great depth when with the minelabs this will be ignored and you can spend more time finding the goodies instead of digging all the rubbish.....i tried a few PI and got shot because of wasting too much time diggin rubbish good luck and H.H. They are fine too as long as you get the later models as the early XS models were prone too case hardening of lower stems and brackets and snapping off this was adressed in later models....PaulB.

i bought my explorer XS on ebay about four years ago....never looked back !....they are great on wet sand and most soil conditions too...so if you want a versatile machine, the explorer is it......have a look on ebay, always plenty on there, and you could flog your ace if you wanted..... Wink....good luck with the search.....byron

I would say so SEF coil is worth well over £100 and will make a big difference
