I find the "Deus Crusade" thats going on lately interesting to say the least, as quite a few DW members have them, but we rarely seem to see the finds that their owners make with them.

My understanding from one or two of their owners is that they are cracking machines, but on the numerous forums I visit, I never see any proof of this.

The other common themes on D.com and UKDNet seems to be their lack of robustness, with even charger cables breaking regularly.

I don't want to start a mine is better than yours war as I personally think any machine is as good as the land, the hours, the concentration of finds, the ground condition and the user, but it would be great to see Deus finds on this thread. With obviously no previous finds using other machines .

I am all for new technology, and would jump at one straight away if it convinces me, but to date I still haven't seen a hoard, any bronze age finds and only one treasure item (Tudor pin} found with a Deus. Come on guys convince me its the future of detecting,

Just my thoughts

I can't be bothered with all of this,my machines better than yours lark.
I got a Deus because my Sov Gt was doing my back in after a few hours, even with a hipmount.Twenty five years of pipefitting has started to take it's toll on my back and it's really annoying to have to pack up searching before your ready to.
I wanted a machine to 'do it all',land and beach. The Deus nearly does it all.It is not great on thick or longish stubble. The weight is not there in the coil to cut through. The larger coil may be better for this,I dont know.
After having a few machines prior to the Deus, I figured I might as well get, what I think, is one of the best machines I could, as I'm tramping up and down the field anyway and don't want to be missing stuff.
I find the recovery speed in amongst the iron is superb, far better than the minelab that nulled out too much for my liking, making me wonder what I could have been missing.
I think the minelabs are all a bit weighty, which is a shame, with the exception of the 70/705 maybe. If they made a lighter version I would be keen to try it.I found their customer service to be excellent .I thought my secondhand Sov was playing up and contacted them for advice,of which they gave me plenty.A couple of days later,Des Dunne even rang me back,to ask how I was getting on! That seriously impessed me.However I won't be parting with my Deus,it is a superb machine.
I have only been detecting for two and a half years, but have made some nice finds, most of which I've been well keen to post on the forum  Grin
As far as the build quality goes,I've had no problems with mine at all.You do have to treat it with a bit of respect, but you should anyway, with any detector.
Anyway, different stokes for different folks,I love mine and I think that's all that matters!
Ps.Your right Napoleon,it's very fond of coke/coal,gives a crackin signal too  Roll Eyes

Good post Neil. As I said it not a detector comparison post at all, its a let see some of the finds, as to date we don't have many from the many Deus owners on here.

Come on Bob give us some finds to see. we won't tell anyone. Wink

I am seriously toying with buying one, and would like to see some of the finds made with them.

There was a similar clamour to buy a new machine in recent years with the T2 (which I am still considering} and the F75. I just want to see what its producing - finds wise.

cheers

I've only just got my finds back from the FLO that I gave him 4 months ago. Twice he forgot to bring 'em.

I had to go to the museum today to collect as he forgot again last night!!!!

He's not taking any more finds as he's likely to be made redundant after April next year. Half of the coins I
gave him weren't recorded or Identified!  Huh

I'll bring one of my albums on Sat for you to have a look. I never used to bother getting id's on some
hammered so will have to enlist Peter to help.  I've buttered him up with some pasties at the last rally as
a bribe!  Grin
