Hi Jaggs, where in west Wales are you from? And what kind of detecting are you going to be doing? Beach, land or a bit of both?

Hi Jaggs and welcome to the forum. Obviously the beach is free and usually accessible also joining your local club will give you access to club land and digs, but at the end of the day like the rest of us the best way is to approach farmers and get permission to search, that way you can start to build up your own portfolio of detecting land Wink

good beaches in west wales too mate but sometimes you need a permit which you can download free and print off yourself from the crown estates website.the link is on one of the forums somewhere.good luck Smiley

Hi Jaggs welcome to the site. Very helpful gang on here. Anything you wont to know just ask.

You'll get a beach permit under BEACH DETECTING. Good idea to have one they cost nothing and you know you're covered. You can see on the Crown site which beaches you're allowed on.
It's a bit daunting to ask Farmers for permission but Hey the worst that can happen is they say no go away.
Keep trying, happy hunting.
