Hello Heather. Welcome to DW.  Nice to see another Lady joining.

Dont know where in S/Wales you are but if you're anywhere by Tenby forget it at the present. Tides are great this week but there's a load of sand been washed in. Sand equals either no signals or a lot of digging.

There are a couple of Ladies that live your way Heather. Try going into the Forum, look for New Members section and introduce yourself. Ask you question again and I'm sure one of them will give you a shout.
One of them is Marjie. I know she goes down there sometimes.

Decided to go to southerndown - tide right out, absolutely nothing except rubbish.  Then went onto Ogmore - again just rubbish !!  wet and cold and nothing to show for it.

Im sure that the people who find all the rings on the beaches buy them in the charity shop before they get there !!  LOL

Im also going to start a scrap metal firm, as i think I could make a killing with all the metal I brought home today.  !! Grin

Onwards and forwards !

Sorry Heather. I have the monopoly on that.
Occasonally Hubby takes the bin bag out and can't understand why it's so heavy. Roll Eyes Grin
Need to bear in mind (in fairness to him) Mike , Dances with Badgers, went out on every low tide for weeks to find his goodies and he says he'd been trying for nearly a year before he found his 1st ring.
I still haven't found anything worthwhile anywhere yet but There's hope for us yet.

now hopefully with my "new" metal detector I will be able to do a beach properly without loads of false signal, as its a dual purpose !

Just a 5 pence would have been great ! lol. But thats how it goes.... im hoping to add to my 1 button found.  LOL

Doing the horses then sitting in and waiting for it to arrive. !

Hi Heather, you have horses?? so do I. See my pici.
What detector have you bought.  I knew the sand was deep but I went p.m. to see how my new spider coil behaved on the beach.
I have great hopes - when the sand eventually goes back to Devon. Plenty of good signals but very deep and I dont do deep. Too much like hard work, especially when the sand and water keep beating you to the next shovel full. Angry
Came back with one copper, one lead weight and a brass door handle plate. Ah well at least i tried, again. Grin

HI

Breed welsh cobs with a good friend of mine (saithstud) who also detects - actually met Steve 24 yrs ago and he got me into metal detecting then, and started the horse stud together,  gave up MD when kids, hubsand (peter) and horses took over.  Not much luck then I have to add.lol  With working as well, something had to give.  Now dont work, so do horses, kids and hubby and then off to do some detecting !  Peter is actually buying the new one for me !

Still big time into the horses, but my no.2. son is getting into detecting and its revived the love I had for it!  Always loved it.

Made a mistake in ordering the detector, and now have to do it all again.   Getting a Whites DFX 300 (push button one !) and hopefully that will last for a few years like my old one.

At least with this one I can do beach and land

Well done on your finds !   Just love being outdoors and hate housework, so great excuse to get out !

Cant believe how much the detectors have come on in 20 yrs
