I had a lovely day out with Shianne again yesterday,  besides  our handfull of coins each including silver sixpences,  we both found finds that are new to us,   Shianne found an unusual button.  Livery Button perhaps, ??

we stopped for a coffee break and a chat,  as soon as i got back to the detecting i found  a nice Welsh lady  which   was coated  with a brass colour or gold,  being  from Wales i really liked this find,
A handle of a tea strainer perhaps  or a knife or spoon handle maybe,

a bit later i found a nice Horse brass also a first of this kind  for me, on  the top is the makers name,
middle is maker,   and at the bottom it says Pontypridd,

 plus a couple of Buckles,

Don't know if I've done this right, it's the 1st time I've tried.

Have a look.

Val
Just checked it and it works. AL you were partly right. Don't know if it was a Welsh lamb though. Well done Shianne

HI Still water's,  i'm not sure what the metal is,  quite heavey for its size though,  i thought at first  the plating was gold cos it was nice and clean in places, but could be a brass covering,

heyy Val,  i think youv'e cracked it girl,    a mate in texas wrote and said "
 "
That button thingy looked familiar to me, but I had to look it up. Not quite what I thought it was but I was close with The Lamb of God.
It's the seal and symbol of the Moravian Church of Czech origins.

so since i got back in iv'e been trying to look it up too,   of Course Jesus did carry a lamb acrosss his shoulders too didn't he,

Thank again
Alan

Here you are Al, it's all on this link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamb_of_God

It is the symbol that Pipster has on his medieval Vesica seal he found a few weeks ago.

As explained to me during a project I did on Herefordshire churches the Image of the lamb and red cross insignia can be traced back to the crusades and is a representation of the Golden Fleece and the Christian Red Cross. This image is carved into many Herefordshire churches including this Knights templar associated church.
