The Mutant EMU Has Now Landed So Smile Damn It

« on: March 16, 2011, 02:19:08 PM »

Hi all

Ok so after the last few rally's i have been finding it real hard work carting the monsterlab around even with the help of a harness i find it to tiring, and having to sweep slow is just to painful on my joints, so it is time for a change or a swap or some kind of arrangement ?.

i would like a detector that i can sweep fast as i find this more natural movement and not restrictive i am open to suggestions on what machine ( i would like a minelab ) my machine is only a few months old and had very little use i would love to keep her but i just cant i don not want to give up detecting as i love it and always have but i just need something lighter.

This is genuine  i relay want to swap my machine for something else and i would relay appreciate your help

Thanks Nomad
Now that's a real good idea never thought of that i am guessing something like a Sovereign GT would be very light and  would be able to swing at normal speed instead of the painfully slow  pro speed Lol

Minelabuser,  I'm sure to be corrected if wrong but Minelabs in general are not a good fast sweep machine. In fact i would say that no Detector should be swept fast.

I've not seen any detectorists out there that sweep fast and walk slow. This means that unfortunately if you sweep fast you're going to be missing an awful lt of targets.

I would aim and getting a light machine but still sweep and walk slow.

If lightweight is your aim then it's hard to beat the XP Deus.

If price is a limiter then the Minelab 705 is good but which coil to use?

If I wasn't a Deus nut I'd probably go for the Tecknetics Omega 8000 with T2 coil. My mate uses it and is pulling all sorts up. Light, easy to use and does the business!  It's impressed me.

It's not that different to what you've got.   It's certainly not lighter!

If you want to stick with Minelab and single frequency, the Advantage is very good but no screen.

Have a look at the Omega 8000 with T2 coil. Trust me!

As a thought, Give Kevin a ring at  www.staffsmetaldetectors.co.uk

He buys and sells and part exchanges machines. A lovely chap who will sort you out. Sells machines
with his own warranty as well.

He lists machines, coils, etc on E Bay under user name 'sliverh', I think, from memory.
