Took the T2 out for a few hours today, and decided to try a field that has just been rolled,I had noticed a very obvious dark earth area to one end of the field and as it is usually a good sign of habitation i thought i'd give it a look,as soon as i aproached the darker area i started seeing loads of pot sherds and peices of clay tobacco pipes,i decided on a bit of a joint field walking combined detecting survey just to see what turned up.The dark soil was very heavily mineralised and full of iron, not the easiest of sites but worth the effort, found the William 3rd sixpence after about an hour, think the date is 1696 first bust early harp, this is the twelth william 3rd silver i've found but the first in pretty good condition.
