I've had a T2 for a few years.
1st question : I'm wondering if it is worth upgrading to the more recent models ?
2nd question : Is the any performance difference between the T2SE and the T2 Black edition?

I'd appreciate a few opinions, please.

The boost mode in the T2SE (black) is very useful in:
1. Suitable ground conditions. Gives you more depth on all targets in soils that don't have too much iron or mineralisation. Good on pasture, deep grass, stubble.
2. Checking iffy or quiet signals detected on the 2+ setting for example.
3. Use in 'All Metals' to give best depth in most soils including rough plough. Set up boost then switch to all metals, T2 keeps the boost on. Obviously very noisy in all metals though.

Summary of Boost:
Best for coin shooting on old 'clean' pasture - my deepest in soil was a cartwheel penny at 15" in boost mode with a ground balance of 45.
Worst for cultivated roman sites with nails and hot rocks etc and small shallow targets.

2017:
9 Hammereds - best: Edward IV Groat
46 Roman Bronze
1 Roman Denarius
Late Saxon strap end
2 Roman rings
2 Roman brooches
1 Roman Seal box
