To those who didn't know Phil Jones aka Farmer Phil he was a great friend to me and Melonhead also a work mate of mine, Phil past away 3 years today , he was well known to a lot of the detecting community , and a really nice guy, even today when out detecting myself and Melonhead always say the things Phil use to say like "Gentlemen it's been a pleasure " a saying that Phil said taken from the orchestra off the titanic , also a another of Phil sayings on a rally we would go on if the rally wasn't  very good and he had Paid for the rally he would say " even Dick Turpin wore a mask " . So to sum up myself and Melonhead miss our good friend and detecting partner , and when we find any decent finds we always say Phil must be looking down on us .

I think I met farmer phil twice before he sadly passed away but he was 1 of those people that you instantly like ,a very genuine bloke, funny enough I was thinking about him last night as on the local news it was on about turkey thefts from ocle pychard {the farm I offered up for the farmer phil rally} and it just made me think of him,i guess he will always be sadly missed.
