There seems to be a pattern forming in my detecting and not a good one either Sad My body clock has developed a three hour alarm, not sure if it's the heat or dry conditions but I seem to have had enough after that. Strange!
Anyhow on to today's three hours...well not a lot but I did get two small Roman grots or should I say, what's left of them.

At this point I did find a 1943 sixpence but this was snaffled by the farmer as his wife wants them for the Christmas pudd. I did find a barrel tap key which I always try and give to the farmer as they're a piece of agricultural history.

Now the irony; this morning a sent Probono a PM asking if it's known what the metallic make-up of the follis is as the ones I find are usually in pretty good condition......that was until today Wink Another follis this time rather corroded, not sure who the emperor is, though the reverse shows Hercules (I think Huh).

The weird bit is that last weekend I posted an id for someone on a Scottish hammy, later that day I found a Scottish merk, today I PM Probono about a follis and hey-presto I find one......so please forgive me if I post a lot this weekl about gold hammies and staters Grin Grin Grin

3 hours is about all I can do on one run, I then need a refill of tea and Marmite sandwiches and I'm good for another hour.

That's quite funny Smiley - I've just replied by the way......

It'll most likely be the 'Genio Pop Romani' type as the tetrachy were quite boring in their reverse choices.

At least one of the others looks like a barbarous radiate.

Perhaps I should start PM people about any kind of hammy Smiley
