Not the best of pics I'm afraid, looks better in the flesh, cant quite make out writing Sad  no scale I know, but its 20mm diameter, looked like a rose farthing when dug, but a little to big and what I thought was a rose on one side isnt, and what i thought was a pinapple thistle also wasnt, - note to self - take water and a toothbrush next time...

The date depends on the issuer, most are either Wolf Laufer or Hans Krauwinckel who as Jayhay has said is 1586-1635 but his farther and others also minted the Orb style right back to 1500.

Thanks Geoff & Jayhay, I'll print out the info for the landowner to give him when I see him next, he was very interested, at least my date wasnt far off, I'm chuffed with that as the last Jetton I found just disintegrated before my eyes Sad  Never had much luck with them Sad

Sommat new to show Peter Reville next month anyways Smiley
