Hello all,name is piero,live in carmarthenshire,looking to by a detector to have something to do when im not doing something else?.have 3children all grown up,2dogs classic beetle and a bay window camper the later i want to keep the detector in so i can go look for finds on beaches where ever it may take me.any sugestions

Hi there Piero and welcome to the site. If you want to dedicate yourself more to beaches then I would recommend looking for a Minelab Sovereign. There is no "upgrade" from a sovereign so when you have it you shouldn't want for anything else. Wink

Just read up quickly about the sovereign and some say that you cant sweep very fast with this machine and to sweep 3 seconds on a 4 foot swing, Huh?

All the Sovs have the same depth, the newer ones are just slightly more user friendly. Yes to get the best performance you have to sweep slowly, but that's true of any machine and if you want the deeper stuff then that is one thing you have to learn.

i sweep faster than that and i got a silver ring today at 14'' which is bloody awsome with the sov xs2.
