Ho Humm .. she did it again!!

Out with Mrs H today and lo and behold i did well finding loads of bullets, bottle tops ring pulls and the usual detritus! ...but Mrs H, scores big with costume jewellery [pic later], a pound coin, george 5th halfpenny and then this nice bit of silver, probably from a walking cane .... she needs help identifying the date and makers mark ... the makers letters are L.H  over A.S  then theres the hallmarks of anchor, date letter ... is it a U or N?   then lion

any help identifying the date and makers would be a huge bonus

I'm going to go with Birmingham 1894 as it looks near identical to the letter u in my silver marks book. It has to be after 1890 and before 1934 as there is no sovereign head showing duty had been paid.

As for makers none shown in my books with those initials.

I'm sure if someone else thinks differently they will post up.

iam going Birmingham 1887, the other letters were added at a later date i think, and scara it looks like an N to me unless iam seeing things

Thanks jayhay for your input. I must admit that a few of our club membrs couldn't decide if it was an N or an U .... either way the date range of 1887 to 1900 is good with me ..... if L.H proves to be the birmingham silvermark of L. Henzelmann then that sort of fits in with the idea of the engraved letters being added at a later date!
