This mount was found on my site by my mate and this site has produced marvellous artefacts from all over Britain and beyond from the Viking period when the lost kingdom of Man and the isles was at its height ....For further reading

I agree with the idea of significance rather than value.  Something so simple speaks volumes.

I've always said I rather find things like that than coins. Though I must admit a few coins thrown into the finds bag wouldn't go amiss.

Your right Val ,even though I have found nice coins and a few gold objects...Nothing beats a rare or unique quality object in copper or bronze.
Your right as well dryland ,it is a quality object...Recently Dan who found the pendant..has a a lovelt tinned Viking bell of the same site..

Very nice.

You're correct about significance - I found a Viking lead weight down here - no really monetary value, but certainly significant in terms of what it is.
