Ive been wanting 1 of these for a long time, still cant believe i found one over the moon with it lovely james 1st shilling not worked out the mint mark yet thought i wait to get better pictures of it.
thanks for looking. now where is that blasted gold coin thats eluded me foe 7 years.

yeah its the neck mate on the pain killers for now have a op end of march going to keep me off for 2 monthes nearly so filling my boots while i can.  Grin

Nice coin - though I don't know what you are complaining about - I've found a number of gold coins, but I've never found a shilling of James I (or any other coin of James I) Smiley

Well the reverse mm looks like Cinquefoil to me (1613-15) - it's definitely at least a second period shilling (reverse with QUAe etc) - and the obverse 'HI' rather than 'HIB' - but the obverse mm doesn't look like cinquefoil to me - there's very little space left for the mm too (there are no pellets eithe side of it, which should help nail it down to which period).
