Mornin Peeps,
03:50 and the sky is just stating to get lighter, the large trees are appearing as black shadows, the birds have been singing for twenty minutes now, and the cry of a seagull just broke the stillness overhead.

I had planned to get to the beach for 08:30 and follow the retreating tide with the CS4PI but I can hear the sound of Badger's voice............" Where there be bullets, there be GOLD!".............. Sod it; I think I will make a start now, and report back this evening.

Have a good day folks, and happy hunting.   Wink

Just this moment got back into the caravan and I is meltin! Managed £1.08p in decimal, one United Arab Emirates coin, one .303 brass cartridge, and the usual shrapnel and bullets. Worked from Talacre to Presthaven close to the dry sand and then worked from Presthaven to Talacre close to the low water mark. Not a single find at the low water line!  Cry

I think I shall put the beach on the back burner for the moment and concentrate on my fields where the hay has now been gathered in!  Wink

At one point I found a nice shiny, new, tent peg and thought "peeps have been settled in around here" and gave six square yards a good going over. I found an other four tent pegs!  Angry

A little later I was working hard to recover a target, only to discover that it was a rusting 1p decimal. As I popped the elusive coin into my finds bag; the sun came out from behind a cloud and the low angled rays struck the dry sand in front of me and lit it up like molten gold! That moment was sheer magic and it almost took my breath away.  Cool

Despite the litter, broken glass, WWII scrap, quick sand, deep mud, and dead birds; I love dawn on the estuary. Come rain or shine, it never fails to thrill the soul and refresh the mind.  Wink
