Popped out this afternoon for a couple of hours on a field that adjoins the field we were on and provided Roman finds on Sunday.
Well I managed to get some credibility back by finding 3 grots and Damn! Damn! Damn so close and yet so far, I thought I had pulled back level with Taff in the hammy stakes with one signal but it turned out to be a counterfeit, it has Lombardic writing and pellets on one edge and is silvered, the size corresponds to a halfgroat but DAMN!!! Grin

Bound to be Mike, definitely a couple of fields to keep an eye on, as I would think a new crop of cons would show themselves if and when they are ploughed.

eeeeeeeeeeeee shutupa yu face!

Mike, all three grots came from the same area about ten feet on the other side of the hedge from where Nobby had is silver. Mentioning of which turns out is not a Denarius but the same as yours, a Antoninianus.
