.cambridge-news............................

Silver coin is treasure
A medieval penny found near Mildenhall has been declared treasure.
Steve Foster unearthed the silver coin using a metal detector with the landowner’s permission at a site in Worlington on September 23, a treasure inquest in Bury St Edmunds heard yesterday.
The coin from the time of King Edmund (aka Eadmund) of East Anglia, who ruled from 855 to 870, is one of several found at the site in recent years.
The penny will now go before a treasure valuation committee which will recommend the find’s value.

How is a silver coin, on its own, treasure under the TVA  Huh

..............there appears to be something missing from the article.

Unless they are saying it was buried together with others found at the site??

well it does say "one of several found at the site in recent years", so presumably a scattered hoard.
