alright guys.i had to go to llanelli today to look for work so after dinner i decided to go to pembrey beach with the detector.got a georgian penny in a particular area so i gridded it and bingo 2 rings and some sort of air force badge. :)   the top ring looks good but is just a gold plated jobby, the other ring is 9ct,amethyst with small diamonds and the girlfriend has knabbed it and the badge i am researching at the moment

Lovely finds Mike,

Now for the badge , its WW2 United States Army Air Force aerial gunners badge.

They are quite collectable , and are normally Sterling silver, there are quite a few designs, with subtle differences.

If you could get a clearer photo of the whole badge , i could ID it better. or take your pick from this lot.

It is most probably from a downed aircraft, and has eventually washed up ashore after all these years ,,, lovely rare find

Yes different style , but as far as i know , all badges made in Britain for US Government were anodised metal, as Silver was too scarce to use.

Made in the US is a different story though , nearly all were sterling silver.
