I like that Kev - I hope he sticks to his guns!

I always use the pound coins I find in shops - and have only been questioned once. When I explained where they were from they took them.

If we had a bit investment in our coins or went back to a silver standard we wouldn't have this problem. I did read a few years ago that the Royal Mint was considering a £5 and £10 coin with silver content in them - what percentage I have no idea. The £5 note will be next to go into a permanent coin in my opinion. You never get new fivers now in your change - they are always bogging!

There is a maximum you can use at anyone time, when using pennies and 2 pence pieces, not sure about the pound coins though ???

Good on him, they should put signs up up if they will not accept bags of £ coins.

Nice one ;)

Pound coins are legal tender for up to any amount. Maybe we should all club together and buy a car  ;D

Incidently, 5p's are legal tender up to 5 pounds. Now that would pee me off!
