How modern do you mean?

I had military belt buckles c. WWII, uniform buttons, 1937 halfpenny, birdshot balls, a watch winder and bezzel, and iron chisels and a hammer. Not to mention the James 1st penny (Sorry Tafflaff, had to mention that).

Most of the field over the bridge from our carpark was contaminated with tons of fairly modern iron stufff like nails and bits of s c r a p metal.

There were areas of that field where there were bits of partially finished bronze and copper, along with bits of pewter which seem to indicate some bronze production near there.

No very modern stuff like pound coins, but I would have been happy if I had found some coz I could have used it for the toll bridge coming home!

Bob I think other than Dave's Halfcrown most of the more modern coinage that I saw come up were farthings and most of the buttons were small. I think this is the result of this being the 3rd rally on this land. The larger coinage, of which post 1700 mainly is had been easily found on the previous two.
