Title: Wick field find Post by: Meatslicer on August 31, 2010, 10:12:20 PM Found these today in a field having sillage cut.
Cant work out what the oval decorated bronze thing is. Looks like spring attachments on the top and it is hollow, approx 6mm deep and very thin and delicate. Maybe a trumpet brooch head or just an amulet. no signs of a hinge attachment though. The silvers were the same distance down, one of them in the same hole as the copper halfpenny.
Back there early tomorrow, fingers crossed for something even better. Nice to see the committee still meets ;) Eric |
