Title: Actual Detecting Photo's
Post by: Kev on June 05, 2010, 10:32:53 AM
seen a post on another site about not enough detecting photos of folks actually detecting and getting a bit of the scenery in as well ,thought it would be a good idea to get more photos on here to see members actually detecting and they don't have to be close up photos  ;)............ get them photos coming on D.W. folks ;)

Here we are Kev. Up above my place looking back towards England. Have A hunch about some Bronze Age sites so am looking at these. Great view though.

Some nice photo,s Techony but to me it does beg the Question when to many people actually deter from your days detecting. I went to the Weekend Wanderers King Alfred a few years ago and just got no where fast. People finding .303 bullets and chucking them back down, loads of people without phones and a background of other peoples detectors. Constant interferance from Minelabs. On the plus side it was nice to meet some great people but it just could not warrant £60.00 for grief. I hate being a killjoy but the smaller limited number rallies are a much better value. Sorry Tech it was the flashback from your pics.

No probs WBM. I also thought it was well overcrowded when it kicked off, but after 30 mins or so the hundred's of MD'ers had dispersed over the equally 100's of acres. In fact on the 2nd day I actually found myself alone in one of the fields, and I believe that the guy who found the Saxon burial was also pretty much on his own at the time.

I don't mind either way really as long as the organisers have done their homework and everyone fills in their bl**dy holes properly!!! (couldn't resist a little rant there :o )

Cheers,

Here,s one for Geoff Admin. Here is the pass through the Hilly country To Gladestry  where Geoffs family can be traced to I believe. In the distance is Brilley Mountain overlooking Hay - on - Wye

You're right Phil, the farmer's familly went right out to make a couple of extra quid too. But I, for one, appreciated it. I even paid a quid for a ride on the hay trailer back to the car at one point!

When i heard on the grape vine about the Saxon princess grave i,d missed the hay trailer and had to Run over a mile in case i missed anything lol
