Title: Braved the heat !!!!
Post by: 150aceboy on May 24, 2010, 02:19:07 PM
Out for a couple of hours with the boys yesterday, wow it was HOT, really hard work.
The ground was as dry as a cork, not many finds came up, but i did get to find my first thimble lol, plus about a 1000 shot gun caps, and pieces of lead dross  >:(.
Don't have a clue what the 2 lead items in the pic are, but fetched them home just in case.
Ace   ;)

nice finds ace.

the large lead is probably a lead loom or suspension weight.

the thimble is machine stamped, so its after the industrial revolution - -so is probably victorian or later.

the spectacle buckle is lovely - easily identifiable.
