HI ALL.
i woke up this morning ready to have a interview with the bbc1 news reporter and x-ray producer lucy owen.
after haveing only 3 hours sleep due to my mind being on overdrive,lol.
i must say the nerves had taken toll about 15 mins of getting out of bed.
meeting times where 9.30am at one of alan jenkins farms.as we came over the hill to the farm i seen the camera crew and allmost s**t my pants to say the least.
then i seen lucy owen standing there with a big smile on her face.only ever seeing her reading the evening news.i did.nt know weather to smile back at her or cry.lol
seeing her live infront of my face was something else.
i remember thinking to myself i need to pull myself together.so got out of the car and some how i did that.lol.
they explained for a short while what they where planning on filming.and dont worry just enjoy the day.I SAID TO LUCY ITS OK FOR YOU TO SAY THAT YOU DO IT FOR A LIVEING.LOL.
out on the field we had a few laughs but there was some seriouse times to go with things.after a short while i started to calm down a bit.and do what they said just enjoy the day.

they let me mension detectingwales as we also are now offering the same free service to the public to go out and find any lost items.such as jewelry ect.
that people have lost in they gardens at the local park or maybe a picknick area ect ect..
i mensioned if any one in the public is thinking about takeing up this great hobby.
there is a website called detectingwales.com full of friendly people with great advice.who will help the new comeing and guide them in they.re first steps to metal detecting and will answer all your questions.

Oh and don't worry about being nervous, Lucy phoned me this morning at 8 because she was so nervous about meeting the famous Roman Ray.

You beat me to it Chef. I bet she was well frightened of meeting a detecting legend. Well done Ray an ambassador to the hobby and all round good guy. I hope you enjoyed it mate and you look a natural in front of the camera.  :D  One thing though Ray, does this mean you will be charging an appearance fee now at DW rallies.  ;D ;D ;D

A couple more from today as well Ray,  a good day out, Hannah the producer was nice too,  certainly put us at ease.

Well done guys , you did the detecting fraternity proud. And a good advert for R.A.R.E and Detecting Wales to Boot. I would have liked to join you but with whats been happening with Shelley at the moment there was no way I could have.

I must say Its nice for X ray to have asked Dw to take part, they obviously recognise we're the No.1 Detecting Site in Wales  ;) :P

Well done Ray and Al - great job guys - i was gutted I couldn't join you today, but work got in the way ???. Well done on putting Detecting Wales at the forefront of Welsh metal detecting where it rightfully belongs.

Yes Alan, it was to try and find something, but was late getting in from work and someone else got there before me.
At least the system is working and people are taking an interest in the work that all the guys and girls do.

arrr,  i  did hear that Colin had 2 calls from the public by 8,10 after the show,  that cpould have been one of them then

Hi Al,  :)  I (maxine) also had a call off Colin to do a search, I'l tell you about it tonight at the Rare meeting.

Now !! I wonder  ??? who that someone else might be  ;D ;D the other evening I also recieved a phone calll from Colin Hanson who asked me if I lived in the area of Brynbach to which I replied yes ::) somebody had lost a item and would I search for it  CERTAINLY!! Iproceeded to phone the mobile number given to me spoke to a person called Chris who had lost the tax disc from his motorbike whilst he was returing home from work one night it fell off onto his riding boot and bounced onto the grass verge went up and down the verges  either side of the road to no availsome member of the public or council worker cutting grass must have picked it up ??? the strange part of this story is the fact that Iused to work by the side of Chris in the same factory :o so it was it bit of a old reunion ;) small world ;D : ;D
