Title: Coin I.D. Please Pete
Post by: 150aceboy on May 20, 2010, 12:08:38 PM
Hi Pete, please could you help to ID the bust on this coin.
The coin is around the same size as a Halfpenny.
At first i thought it could be George IV, as the head is facing left, but this coin has has a bow and 2 ribbons hanging from back of head, not shown on George IV coins  ???
Also thought could it be George II, but on his bust , he has shoulders, which are not on my coin  ???
I know its going to be difficult, but please could you help I.D. , its driving me nuts lol  ;D
Ace  ;)

Anything on the back?

Looks most like a very worn George II to me, or maybe a forgery of one?

He does many coin portrait poses, this might not be an exact match to yours, but there are plenty similar
