Four Kev, Two Local and two a little further afield. Have knocked on many a door for a DW Rally and have hit the stumbling block when I mention the 70 ish numbers. Also would like to tread certain fields closer to home but some fellow DW members live nearby and would not want to tread on there toes either.

6 farms{1 on my doorstep},its good having these farms as you can pull stuff up from most ages and you can really have a option what you want to go for on a particular day ie,, farm with roman on a monday ,farm with hammered on tuesday e.t.c

I can detect on all the Farms in my village accept for one,and all are in walking distance but there are only two which have produced any Roman and Celtic finds. I believe the reason for this is that the Farms I find the ancient relics on they are ploughed deep depending what crop is growing in them and the other Farm fields are permanent pasture.

 ;D

Most have more than 1 farm. Those who have more may not have farms that produce the goodies. its a little like playing the lotto !

I found in my vast experance that "Getting a farm is like making love to a Beautiful women "(anyone remember Swiss tony)

If its easy to get then chances are someones been there before you  lol
A totally undetected farm down the vale is as rare as hens teeth lol
