Title: Do you think the Staffordshire hoard should be split up.
Post by: adesace on February 24, 2010, 10:15:39 PM
After listening to my local radio station it said that Dudley museum was trying to raise the money to get the hoard and keep it in the Midlands. They went on further and said it would split the items across a few museum's in the midlands so the 150 odd pieces would never be together again in one place. My feelings are that it should not be split, but on the other hand if it means keeping it in the Midlands i would also be happy with that. I don't want it to go out of the area it was found because the likes of the London museum and abroad would love to get there hands on it.
What do you think.

I am shocked that they may split the collection. It should be kept together, end of story. Why do our supposed guardians of heritage continually commit these faux pois. I have numerous items that I have sent to be recorded that have been lost in the system. I am afraid I trust them not one ounce.
