Well done ACE, the first is allways the hardest, they will come fast and furious now, it took me 9 months to find my first and that was going out 3-4 times a week, now I know what to listen for, and they are still bloody hard to find  ;D

Well done Aceboy, great find plus all the others

I think you might be right there Phil, Queen Mary hasn't got the inner circle on her pennies and Elizabeth I has a date which I can't see on this coin, so I am going to stick my head out and also go for Edward VI Penny.

Come on Peter put us out of our misery.

london mint. elizabeth1. if you look at the left coin you will see the bottom ie shoulders at 2 o.clock and therefore head will be at 8 oclock, 1558-1603

I agree, Elizabeth I. Looks to have two pellets behind the bust so it's a halfgroat.

Thanks guys, i'm chuffed as punch with it  ;D ;D.

After your I.D. i can clearly see now with an eyeglass, 2 pellets to the right, and clearly see the shoulders of Elizabeth I.

At first i opted myself for an Edward VI Penny, but when Bobkoi mentioned Elizabeth I, then Peter, i found some good pics on line, which i was able to match up the pattern on shoulders etc.

Thanks again all, and nice to have you back on line Pete  ;)

Ace  ;) ;)

peter does it not have 3 pelets on it .
1758 lizzy threepence ????? or the halfgroat .
thing with lizzy , people hated her so they rubbed her face out plus the monyers shallowed the die prior to striking i think too.
fantastic to get off the marks with a lizzy to say no more  my first was a lizzy half groat which was like a pull tab smooth but edward bearsley i.d 2 pellets and confirmed it.
i have managed around 30 since in 2.5 years so hope you can do similar .

help to love doc.
what machine do you use my friend???
i doubt very much unless you really disc out loads this coin would give full strength signal .
but smaller thinner hammered will give much smaller signals .
we will get you finding or well set up to find soon.
plus three farthings is the term rather than pence again its early morning

Found these items as well, on the day my first Hammie came to light , so carried away with my hammered, i forgot to put these on :)

Couple of George III coppers, Harness Deco piece, an old spoon ( has marks on but can't make them out ),  a decorated button, another button, part of a spectacle buckle, an unknown disk thing ?, and small lead bag seal, and one half of a locket.

Ace  ;)
