Title: first gold of 2010 for Bea chboy
Post by: zorro on February 14, 2010, 11:16:34 AM
here's bea chboy's first gold of the year, found on...you guessed it a beach yesterday.
Looks like the Explorer he's bought has started paying for itself already.
as you can see its 9" long and i think he said its 9ct. (lucky bugger!)

Mick i'm sure he'll be bringing it to club tomorrow. i think he had a 1912 dated coin as well, not sure what denomination though.
his laptop is up my sisters all week, she needs it for her course work, so he wont be on line rest of week i dont think.

Debs i'll answer for be achboy ( his laptop is at my sisters, so he's offline all week). as for bea ches my dad has detected on bea ches from lydney  to darkest west wales from time to time, and everywhere on the gower. taking me to a few that took nearly 30 mins to walk to!
as for times, depends, if you are looking for recent finds at top of beach in "dry" sand anytime will do. otherwise to get to the lower end of the beach obviously you have to wait for low tide!
a good tip is to do some research on the beaches you plan to visit, where there any fairground rides there years ago? deck chair stalls?
or going further back try and find out if trading vessels beached in certain areas to offload their cargo for trade.
