On sunday i found a old xs program i had and decided to put it in my machine and begged the other half if i could nip out on monday to try it after some negoation she agreed i could go out for a few hours to a local field less than a mile away from the house.
The field is only about 5 acres with a stream running along the edge no real history at all ive been on this field about 4 times had mostly gerogan and vikky coins with 7 vikky silvers. Got there set up and a old lady who lives in one of the houses across shouted me over and told me that she lost her wedding ring in the field throwing bread to the sheep and was there any chance i could look for it in the area she lost it.
I combed the area for a hour an half only finding the odd vikky and gorgan groat then up popped a battered vikky shilling. I was just about to give up when i thought id walk along the edge of the field turn around and go back to the car had a few bits of junk then got a nice signal dug the hole. The  signal was out in clump of soil i thought another silver i bet crumpled the soil in my hand and there was a hammy i couldnt beleve it i was in total shock people have told me there was nothing at all in the area of any history nothing on any old maps etc as the sofrydd was only built in the victorian times . Made me one happy bunny first for 2010 got permission to go back on wed as shes going out shopping hopefully there may be a few more as i didnt get chance to check the area.

Great result John - you just never know where they are going to turn up. I bet you find more there.

 Ohh Leighton,  trust you lol,  but yes, some times they were.  lol especially not far inside the gates and to the side,
 sometimes holes in their pockets or purses though,  or dropped into long grass,  doh
