Title: Any Ideas Please ........
Post by: 150aceboy on January 23, 2010, 07:31:38 PM
Out for an hour today, and found what i think is a small seal of some kind.

When i fetched it home and cleaned it, i could see on one side the letter "S", and on the reverse the letters " S . H .", there is also a slot running through the thickness of item  ???

The item is made of lead.

Can anyone tell me what kind of seal this is ?, if it is a seal or not  ???

For comparison of size, i have used a £1 coin.

Thanks Ace  ;)

Yes, it's a bag or sack seal, probably from a bag of seed or manure for the farm.
