Can anyone tell me what the "cookie" for this site is called, as my Cookie cleaner keeps deleting it ,and that means i have to log on everytime i go on here.  I`ve looked in the ,"Cookies to delete"  cashe ,and i can see no refrence to this forum, but i know its deleting the cookie because i never used to have to log on every time i went on here. Its only lately its started to happen. OR , cold it be another reason i keep getting logged out without me logging myself out ?  Your help would be appreciated .Thanx.

According to Firefox there are two cookies assigned to "detectingwales.com", Jeb. They are:

"PHPSESSID"

"SMFCookie136"

There's also one for freewebs.com "_utmz" but I doubt that's important.

No, i can`t see either of those two names in the "Cookis to delete box"
 which is bad news for me, because now i have no idea why i keep getting logged out ,even though i don`t log out before going off line. Is there any more suggestions please. ?

What browser are you using, Jeb? Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome?

I use Internet Explorer on my laptop and Google Chrome on my desktop and i never get signed out?

IE. I use .Always have.
This is strange because its only started happening say the last 5 days. before that always logged IN when i clicked on here. Now, I`m always logged out for some reason. But I can`t see what i`ve done to start this happening as i`ve altered nothing i know of.

Is this happening on this site only, Jeb? Do you have your user name and password stored for other sites, and if so are they the same or do you log on fine?

Ere Jeb,have you thought that Admin might be,in a roundabout way, telling you to "go forth & multiply"   :o

Have you checked in control panel, click on internet options, scroll down in delete history, there is a little box, if there is a tick in it, everytime you log onto aforum and then exit, it'll clear all passwords and cookies.

If you want to stay logged onto forums / web pages etc without having to use username/passwords make sure box is blank.

then log in again but dont got get to click" forever."

 I`ve been told that Admin should know the name of the Cookie for definate.  Is the cookie called the same cookie in IE, as is called in Firefox please ?  Its getting on me nerves this loggin in every time. I`ve ticked "Forever" as suggested and I`ve done the other suggestions. Its only on here i`m getting logged our every time so i think it has to be a cookie problem .

its hard this end to work out what your problem is
Try logging on "forever" even use your favourite option to save to your favourites list or your tool bar
thats should work.
Have you tried going into internet options and unclicking the "delete cookies option
I know if youve ticked that box youll loose your save passwords every time its used it that makes any sense lol

Well , I`ve found out its defo my Cookie cleaner doing the login out jobby on me . Because I`ve switched it off and i don`t get logged out now. but the thing thats puzzling me is, that i cannot find any of the cookies you mentioned in the "cookies to delete ", list. So I cannot transfer them over to the "cookies to keep" section.
 ??? ??? ::) scuppered.

What do you want to know  ?  If you PM me any queries i`ll be glad to help you if i can. There`s a lot of ways to use the F75. Its a truly great detector. People throw the towel in on them too quickly without persevering in getting to understand them.
I`ve had one since they first hit the UK.

I`ll give you a couple of settings to try  if you want .
A good hunting setting is.
For clean ground with not much Iron about.
 0 discrim.
2,3,or 4 tones.
 JE ,PFor DE
Sensitivity 85 or as high as you can
dig only each way repeatable sounds that give a GOOD high squeal.
This is a firey setting ,especially when JE mode is set,but if you listen for that GOOD eachway signal you`ll be OK.

Hard hunting in the TRASH.........
0 disc
PF mode
sens 99 (essential its high, when in trashy ground)
1 tone (only) watch you screen, dig only Each way repeatable signals.
look for a signal that is good but don`t register on the numbers . these are the Deepies.
 Lots of erratic noise will be around but just listen for that good target signal amongst it.
 In trash,Keep your Tone on 1 tone for good target separation ability.
...
Another to try is .. Normal ground with `average` Iron. this is easy on the ears.

Disc on 6.
PF Mode.
Sens 85-99
1 tone.(only)..........once you stick it in 2,3,4 tone you up your discrim to "15 "just by doing so)
 Dig all eachway repeatable signals .
...
 Then there is probably My Fav, ALL METAL mode.
The deepest and best in my thinking. But every one is different and has their own favorite.
 the VDI numbers  will only show targets up to 12" in that, but the Audio will still get targets that are deeper than 12" , So listen out for good sounding targets that are not showing any numbers but are giving a good each way,Audio sound ,in All metal mode.

 When working in discrim mode,the "mandetory" monotone ,is mainly for working in the trashy areas only .

 Hope these are of some value to you. If you keep trying them periodically you will learn their benefits. They are noisy but you get nothing for nothing.
 Never forget to Fast grab over a clean bit of ground too, before you start.

 

I have to point out that these two below (in the other post)are a bit Fiery for a novice user.
 If you want a good easy rider,
try....
 Discrim 5 (no higher)
 2 tone
Sens 80
PF mode . or DE for an even quieter setting.
Its either high or a low sound on targets.
Dig "nothing" under 18. Dig only E/way repeatable signals. Low sounds are iron with numbers under 18.
High sounds dig . Test a Silver coin b4 you start to listen to the sound you only want to dig.
 After Fast grabbing,Add onto  your ground cancel reading  plus 3 clicks of what your ground cancel figure is ,to pinch a bit more depth.

How can i set it up to work best on wet sand ?
Ive only used it once and i followed some advice on an american forum it didnt work for me ;0(

Settings on a american site is no good for us as they have completely different soil etc well that is what i was told once

I think that very true about soil
Most multi or dual frequency machines can handle wet sand.
The fisher runs at a constant 13 khz nominal so not really suited to the salty stuff.

A little piece from the F75 manual.......

Salty water is highly conductive, and produces a strong signal which is like that of metal.
The fisher is not specifically designed for top performance in salt water but can be used in this enviroment .

I think ive hyjacked Jebs post i think it should me moved to the Fisher Detecter or the Fisher programs Board lol
